I removed the Junction box and tested K6300. It tests good both electrically and mechanically on my bench. So apparently it is not getting the ground signal from the DME. Time to wring out the wiring...bummer.

You were right up to 02/2007 N52's have the DME relay in the DME box. Later builds do not have a DME relay part listed at all. So could be part of the junction box as you wrote and built into it.
